The first photo was taken on move-in day, freshman year, with my dad and my dumb old butterfly chair and medusa lamp, a requirement for college freshman, or so Target would have you believe. The second was taken today, right now (with that same medusa lamp), four years later, the day after my last classes ended. A little worse for wear, maybe, but at least I don’t wear that dumb baby bow anymore.

It’s been a crazy four years. There’s been so much good and bad together. This school chewed up that little girl with the baby bow and spit her back out and now here I am on the other side, an adult, tired, but stronger, and still excited for the next step.

Good luck to next year’s freshman class! You’ll be okay, kids.
